About the program

Australian Postgraduate Research Intern (APR.Intern) is a national program that drives industry-university collaboration through short-term PhD student placements. It is delivered by the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute at the University of Melbourne and operates nationally, with direct access to all of Australia's leading universities.

The program connects businesses of all sizes with Australia's brightest research students across all disciplines.

Over three to five months, students apply their research skills to an identified business challenge while host businesses gain a competitive advantage by tapping into high-end expertise.
